adaptiveRF IPM2 Point-to-Point, COFDM, IP67 Outdoor Radio Transceiver Unit
COFDM OEM Wireless IP Bridge is ideal for professional video applications
The COFDM outdoor (IP67 rated) IPM2 has a compact and robust pole mountable enclosure. The unit can be used in all outdoor applications and in harsh industrial environments. A network can be set-up in a matter of a few seconds simply by attaching an antenna, switching on and connecting an IP appliance.
The outdoor unit has the benefit of supporting Power over Ethernet (802.3af/at PoE), and can be powered by any standard 802.3af/at compliant PSE class 3 or 4 device.
The unit also provides both visual and audible RSSI and survey modes as well as unobtrusive (quiet) mode.
The IPM2 is a multi-megabit wireless IP/Ethernet solution with advanced security features and has been designed for use with IP-based video surveillance equipment but can easily function to complement and extend IP networks. Unlike 802.11-type CSMA based solutions the IPM2 operates on a token-based TDMA MAC which aids in the provision of uninterrupted IP video streaming and low latency data transfers. OFDM modulation mitigates harmful
radio multipath effects allowing the units to be used in non-line of sight and mobile applications.

Simplicity
Each link can be considered as ethernet cable replacement, where the radio link replaces and indeed greatly extends the range limitations of wired Ethernet to greater than 1km.
Moreover as each IPM2 device is also an intelligent switch, multiple devices can be connected to form a bi-directional point-to-multipoint network. The integrated 802.1D bridge (spanning tree protocol) also provides automatic relaying for out of range devices.

Just apply power to each device and within a few seconds a link will be established. Plug in an Ethernet appliance to each RJ45 port and you are ready to go! All types of IPM2 devices are compatibile with one another.
Security
Once all the elements of IPM2 network are operating correctly then the network can be made fully secure by configuring a network name, encryption key and encryption mode.
The COFDM IPM2 range supports the most secure AES standard using either 128 or 256 bit keys. Security can also be assured when a device is being used as a relay between other devices which cannot reach each other directly. In this case, encryption is end-to-end in so much that encrypted packets are simply buffered and relayed to the destination device.
Video Streaming
The COFDM IPM2 range is ideal for video streaming as required by CCTV and surveillance applications. Real throughputs of 20Mb/s are achieveable and together with support for packet and device prioritisation, this makes it suitable for use with High Definition video sources. There are many HD IP cameras beginning to appear on the market now.
