Aerohive HiveAP 20 Access Point
The Aerohive HiveAP 20 Access Point is a highly reliable 802.11a/b/g access point combining an enterprise-class access point with cooperative control technology.
This combination provide the benefits of a controller-based wireless LAN solution, without requiring a controller or an overlay network. HiveAPs are organized into groups, or “hives”, enabling functions like fast L2/L3 roaming, coordinated RF management, security, QoS and mesh networking.
HiveAPs provide all of the benefits of a controller-based, but is easier to deploy and expand, lower cost, more reliable, more scalable, more ubiquitously deployable, higher performing and more suitable for voice over WLAN than today’s controller-based architectures. A hive of cooperative control access points (CC-APs) is able to operate independantly without any centralized control or data forwarding, however to provide for global policy management and centralized configuration and monitoring of many HiveAPs, the Aerohive Networks HiveManager Network Management System Appliance provides a centralized management instance for the entire wireless network. The HiveManager lowers operating costs by speeding deployment, configuration and monitoring of the wireless network.
