I bought this as an upgrade from a certain UK cable suppliers hub which was unbelievably poor in performance and reliability. The ISP supplied hub now only acts as modem, with the ER-X combined with an AP-AC-Lite taking on full routing responsibility. This has proven to be an exceptional upgrade to the network, so far completely rock solid. This is only a small deployment, so I can't say how much it would scale, but generally the CPU has not gone above 10%, and RAM usage doesn't go above 25%. For a SOHO setup this seems like a very valid option.
The only downsides are that is does not come with a UK plug, I needed to purchase one (a few pounds), it also only comes with a getting started guide, not a full manual, however given the price I am OK with a PDF manual instead and the plug is only a minor inconvenice so I will not dock it any points for this.
As for 4Gon themselves, delivery was extremely fast and well packaged, good communication, a great experience overall I will certainly come back again.
