Bought this and a 150w switch and USG as a first taster of the Ubiquiti ecosystem and so far couldn't be happier. Followed the Troy Hunt YouTube series to get this set up (you only need ten minutes or so of part 4 for the actual setup) and everything has been rock solid since.
The controller itself runs happily off of PoE from the 150w switch. The UI is great and the mobile app that connects to it is so feature rich compared to the normal app equivalents of their web counterparts. Showed it to some buddies with much more networking experience than me and they were impressed.
I did have some Raspberry Pis lying around that could have run the software but decided against it after a few mixed reviews of going that way and the fact I'd need to power the pi in addition.
One device update has landed since I set this up and that was a breeze to install.
