I am evaluating the baby version at home, before potentially deploying the larger USG at work.
So far so good. USG is directly running a VDSL PPPoe Modem, as well as connecting to an office PPP VPN.
It would be nice if the device could be PoE+ powered. It would also be nice if the existing power connection was on the same side as the network ports. It would also be nice is the form factor were the same as the UniFi 8 Port switch, as a USG, a switch and a cloud key does result in a stack of random sized enclosures with cables coming out in several directions!
I haven't found anywhere in the controller software yet, where I can tell for example if my PPPoE or PPP connections are up or down. I'm not saying it's not there, but I haven't been able to find it yet. Controller software is good. But I do think it needs to be a bit more intuitive in some areas.
But overall, especially considering the price too, this is an excellent product that previously would have cost many times more and would have been orders of magnitude harder to configure.
